getprotobyname() gives the protocol number for the given protocol name on the local system.
If the protocol is not recognized, then the function returns -1.

int getprotobyname
( string $name
)
Die Funktion getprotobyname() gibt die Protokollnummer passend zu dem Protokoll name zurück. Der Wert wird anhand der Datei /etc/protocols ermittelt.

Rückgabewerte
Gibt die Protokollnummer oder -1 zurück, wenn das Protokoll nicht gefunden wurde.
